By Sulayman Bah The Normalisation Committee has allayed fears of intimidation ahead of the September presidential polls of the Gambia Football Federation. As the election momentum gears up, there have been concerns raised about the likely intimidation of contesting candidates and the fairness of the electoral process from football stakeholders. However, in reaction to these fears, whether real or exaggerated, the NC was swift to calm nerves, while assuring fairness and impartiality in the election process. “We have not received any complaint from any candidate complaining about intimidation and the like.We in our capacity as the normalizing committee will ensure the process is free of rigging and other electoral malpractices. We will provide adequate security on the day,” Ba S.. Jabbie, the NC’s spokesperson on election matters, told Foroyaa Sport. The contest for the GFF top seat is now a three-horse race after Seedy Kinteh and Mustapha Kebbeh failed to make the cut, leaving Omar Danso, Lamin Kabba Bajo and Buba Bojang to vie for the position. Nomination is still on with other positions up for grabs. “We are yet to receive any nomination papers from persons aspiring to occupy the other positions. The deadline is September 15,” disclosed Jabbi.]]>
