MAN WHO ACCOMPANIED YA BINTA JARJU RELEASED IS THE INVESTIGATION COMPLETE?

By Mustapha Jallow Information received from a reliable source indicates that Sulayman Bah, who was in the transport with the late Ya Binta Jarju, was on Tuesday, 2015 released by the Major Crime Unit (MCU) situated at the Police headquarters in Banjul.Mr Bah has finally joined his family at Latrikunda German, after his release.This reporter contacted Mr Bah to enquire about the incident.  “I will not talk to the press at this moment and I have no comments,” said Mr Bah. Readers would recall that Mr Sulayman Bah who was in the taxi with Binta Jarju at the time of the shooting was arrested together with the driver of the taxi on 7 March 2015. They were immediately taken to the Manjai police station to give their statement before being transferred to Kairaba Police Station. Mr Sulaymen Bah was released on Sunday 8 March but he was re-arrested on Monday 9 March and taken to the Police headquarters in Banjul and detained at the Major Crime Unit. Police PRO, ASP David Kujabi earlier confirmed to Foroyaa that the late Ya Binta Jarju was shot dead on the night of Saturday, 7 March, at Erinjang/Kotu when the ‘Joint Security Forces’ at the check point in Manjai Kunda pursued a taxi she boarded. Police PRO, ASP Kujabi was contacted to find out the developments relating to their investigation on the matter but he declined to comment. He had earlier said that the matter was under investigation at the Kairaba Police station where both the driver, one Tapha Manka, a resident of Latrikunda- Bakadagi, and Sulayman Bah, the young man who is said to have hired the vehicle, were being held.]]>
