LEKET, MBORAN UPBEAT AHEAD OF BOUT

By Sulayman Bah Gambia wrestling national team captain Leket and rival Mboran are LEKEToptimistic with each vowing to undo the other ahead of their Saturday’s clash. The two squared in a pre-match war-of-words battle recently but the general feeling was one of circumspection and calm on the night of the face-to-face. ‘I will flatten you come the day,’ said Leket to which Mboran responded ‘by God’s will wrestle you down.’  Mboran’s last fixture was a victory over Manduwar of club Jeff Jell based on referee decision at the Independence Stadium. Leket Bu Barra on the other hand, managed to pick the spoils in a scintillating pairing that ended after fifteen minutes. His opponent Kojaro, gave the Gambian captain a 15-minute scare in the regional competition at the Buffer Zone two months ago. The Barra-born wrestler boasts of an unbeaten record in the arena beating Boy Bakau, Manduwar, Jokardo and Kojaro along the way. But in Mboran he’s touted to have nothing less than a tough battle.  ]]>
