Lamin Cham, alias ‘Lang boy Cham’ a taxi driver, was arrested and detained at the Brusubi Police station since on Friday, 18 November, 2016.
On a visit to the residence of Mr. Cham in Sukuta yesterday, 21 November, one of the relatives told this reporter that while they were at home, Lang boy received a phone from an unknown caller, adding that they latter saw him stepped out of the compound and since that night he has not return. “He was on phone and we do not know whom he was talking to. When we asked him who called him he told us that he will be back soon but he never returned,” she revealed.
The family members are worried about his sudden disappearance; she said that on the following day (19 November) they began searching for him until someone informed them that their loved was held at Brusubi station. ‘‘After we were informed, we visited the said station and we finally traced him there,’’ she said.
Asked if she knows the reason behind Lang Boy Cham’s arrest and detention, she responded in the negative and added that none of the authorities disclosed to them why their loved one is held.
At the time of going to press, the Public Relation Officer (PRO), ASP Foday Conta was contacted to enquire why Mr. Cham is under police custody, ASP Conta told this medium that he is not aware but he will find out and asked the reporter to call back in the next 2 hours. Several attempts to reach him by phone again were unsuccessful. Foroyaa will continue to get the opinion of the police.
