In an election one must always think of not only winning but losing. You can only hope to win but you should also expect surprises.
Every incumbent wants to leave office in grace not as a bad ruler.
Many have been unlawfully arrested and detained without trial by security agents. Will they be released before December 1?
Releasing them after losing an election will be seen as a fait accompli rather than a goodwill gesture. This is food for thought for the incumbent.
