By Kebba Jeffang As families are requesting for the corpses of those linked to the 30 December 2015 insurgency amidst unconfirmed reports that they have been handed over, the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) spokesperson said he is not aware of any such development.“I’m not aware of the handing over of corpses. I have no information concerning that issue,” said Lieutenant Malick Sanyang, GAF Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Gambia Armed Forces when contacted on phone by this reporter for confirmation. Lt. Sanyang told this reporter that he will convey information of any such development anytime it happens. This report came in the wake of appeals being made by the families of the late Lt. Colonel Lamin Sanneh, the purported coup leader, and the late Bakary Bojang, alias Gosso, the mentally deranged young man from Banjul, for their corpses to be handed over to them for a fitting burial in keeping with the Muslim religious rites. The two are among those reported dead in connection with the shooting near state house in Banjul late last year.]]>
