IGP Hands over 60 Escort Motorcycles to Gambia Mobile Traffic Unit

The Inspector General of the Gambia Police Force, IGP Seedy MukhtarTouray, on Tuesday,May 7,2024officially handed over sixty escort motorcycles to the Commissioner of the Gambia Mobile Traffic Unit at the latter’s Headquarters in Kanifing. The motorcycles were previously used as part of the police escorts for the recently concluded Banjul OIC Summit.

During the ceremony, IGP Touray emphasized Government’s commitment to enhance the security of the country particularly in traffic management and in the reduction of traffic accidents. 

IGP Touray stated that the new motorcycles will significantly improve the Mobile Traffic Unit’s responsiveness and operational efficiencyof the country’s traffic.

On his part, the Commander of the Mobile Traffic Unit, Commissioner Lamin King Colley, expressed his appreciation for the support and pledges that his officers will take good care of the motorcycles and utilize them in ensuring a safer and more efficient traffic flow in the country. 

Commissioner Colley further highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Government towards the modernization of the Gambia Police Force and for a better enhancementof their community services.
