 The Brikama Box Bar football mini-stadium will now host combats after the zone’s Sports Committee agreed Brikama stadium is capable of attracting a crowd like thiswith Wilson Promotions to use the ground for their events.

Neighbouring Serrekunda West and East grounds have been the only venues used to host wrestling events while the allocated portion at the Buffer Zone undergoes construction.

With the wrestling season already in full swing hiccups over suitable grounds to stage combats linger.

But in a bid to ease of the situation, Wilson Promotions backed by the Gambia Wrestling Association met with Brikama Sports Committee last week, this paper understands.

The two parties were locked in talks over possibility of the Box Bar Mini-stadium hosting some wrestling events at least this campaign.

Reliable reports confirm that an agreement have been reached with Wilson given the go-ahead to conduct his proposed wrestling combats.

This new development comes as a welcome news in the face of recent struggles faced by the arena to secure a proper venue.
