By Sulayman Bah Nomination papers are yet to be filed for the remaining GFF positions that are up for grabs with 72hrs to the deadline, Foroyaa Sport can report. The most senior position – GFF presidency – has already attracted contenders and the ground is already laid for the commencement of the election process, while the other positions, until yesterday evening, have not yet received nominations from interested persons. September 15 is the deadline and the aspiring-candidates are supposed to formalize their interest by making submission to the GFF Secretary General as stipulated in the Constitution. When Foroyaa Sport enquired about the state of affairs of this issue, Ba S. Jabbie, the Normalisation Committee’s spokesperson on election related matters, said he is hopeful that nominations would be received. “There are no nominations submitted yet but Gambians are known for last-minute things and I’m sure they will come. The deadline is Sept 15,” said Ba S. Jabbie. Meanwhile, three persons: Omar Danso, Lamin Bajo and Buba Bojang are in the race for the top post after being cleared. Seedy Kinteh and Mustapha Kebbeh have been disqualified. The announcement means only fresh faces will be slugging it out in the September 20th elections in what would be their debut season in top football politics. Lamin Kabba Bajo has been a minister under the present government, but it remains to be seen whether he can sell his agenda to football stakeholders. The same could be said of Buba Bojang and Omar Danso, though the latter is the supremo of Serrekunda Central Sports Development Organisation, but has not yet involved in any management of football at that top level.]]>
