Members of the Public Accounts Committee/Public Entreprises Committee (PAC/PEC) of the National Assembly on Tuesday, 12 April 2016, deferred the presentation of the audited financial report of the Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (GCCPC) due to the absence of its board chairperson.
The senior Commission officials present at the Assembly were Ndey Babou, Director of Finance and Administration, Mama Ceesay, Accounts Assistance, Fatima Sonko, Consumer Protection Director, and Lamin Bojang, Director of Economic Analyses and Head of Competition.
Hon. Abdoulie Bojang, the speaker of the National Assembly, told the GCCPC officials that it is not legally feasible for them to proceed with the presentation of the report in the absence of  the Commission’s board chairperson.

He said since the chairperson could not attend or delegate someone to come on his behalf, they are therefore deferring the session to another date which may be after two weeks. He also urged the officials to be patient until they are communicated to.
