The striker last week inked the dotted lines agreeing to a two-and half-year deal with Super League relegation threatened FC Lugano. Ceesay impressed following his invitation on trial reportedly via Senegalese vice champions Niarry Tally whom he joined months ago.

Assan moved to the Dakar club four months ago from local Gambian club Gamtel who were in action in the Caf Champions League preliminary round, last Friday. The 22-year-old goal-getter was initially at Casa Sport in 2014 crossing the divide to Niarry Tally.

However, he faces an uphill task of helping new club –stuck bottom of the 10-mean table –avoid demotion to the second division. His arrival is expected to beef up a team that has lost eleven of their twenty matches, winning only five and drawing four.

His current two and half-year deal runs until 2018.

Efforts to sound Gamtel’s reaction over the deal yesterday proved futile as the travel sore team arrived yesterday morning from Morocco.
