Hoping to be offered a contract, Gambia international Hamza Barry has found himself being tested by English HAMZAPremier League Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse in Holland, Foroyaa Sport can report.

The 21-year-old began his trial mid this month after spending sometime in Gambia training with local teams in his town.

The midfielder is keen to convince the Eredivisie – The Netherland’s Premier League – outfit’s coaches as SBV Vitesse target adding firepower to their squad ahead of start of the domestic season.

Barry is currently with the club taking part in their pre-season drills and hopes to usurp Chelsea’s on-loan Brazilian Nathan Souza in the midfield role. Should he impress, which appears likely, the Nusrat graduate will become the first Gambian to play in Holland’s top flight of recent.

The ex-Gambia Ports Authority man is a free agent after running down his 10-month deal with Cyprus’s First Division side Apollon Limassol who loaned him to Israeli’s Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Hamza had looked destined to move to Turkey amid raft of interest from club there. However nothing came of the rumours.
