By Sulayman Bah Gambia’s captain Mustapha Jarju has secured a new club in the Mustapha Toubabo JarjuUnited Arab Emirates, Foroyaa Sport can reveal. Jarju, nicknamed Toubabo, has joined Al Hatta on a free after sitting out months unemployed. The 28-year-old’s transfer comes on the back of his release by Belgian top flight outfit Raec Mons- his club of seven years in April following the expiry of his contract. Mons refused to extend the forward’s contract and mid through end of last season, the club Macedonian gaffer inexplicably demoted the Scorpion to mix it with the fringe players of the reserve team. Mons that season, got relegated to the second tier. Following the end of his love-affair with the Dragons of Mons – a club he originally joined in 2008 – the attacker-cum midfielder rejoined SKLierse, his first professional employer, to keep in shape ahead of the start of the new season. Mustapha wasn’t short of offers mainly from clubs in both the Belgian and first and second tiers but the Gambia international felt he had, had enough of European football choosing to move to money-bags Al Hatta of the United Arab Emirates. His transfer makes him the second Gambian to play in Dubai after striker Ousman Jallow. Hatta is a second division club in UAE.]]>
