Alagie Salim Drammeh, Africa’s fifth best in the Senior Games in the 400m, turned heads in Switzerland last Friday, Foroyaa Sport can report.

The soldier-cum track star finished first position in his heat to qualify for the finals where he scooped bronze after crossing the line on third position on 45.93.

The new timing sees him shatter his previous 46.55 in the 400m set in the African senior games in Durban, South Africa.

Ireland’s Gregan Brian topped the standings at 45.75 with Italy’s Re Davide coming second at a timing of 45.79.

Hailed for his brilliant acceleration in terms of speed, Salim was one of Gambia’s finest performers in the SA event which also coincided with his first international appearance for his birth land.
