Gambian pair shines in France race

Gambian pair Omar Jammeh- pictured – and Adama Jammeh over the weekend starred in the international Omar JammehAdama Jammehd’athletisme de Artois in Paris with both finishing on a high in their respective events.

The two, who made up Gambia’s contingent in Guyana recently, were at it again with Omar thriving in the 800m with 1:52.83 timing while Adama clocked 10.59 in series two in the 100m.

Both are looking to add to Gambia’s list of qualified athletes for the Rio Olympic Games billed for August. As it is, Omar will need to buckle down to reach the outlined 1: 46:00 to go to the Brazil events.

Meanwhile, Gina Bass, who was also scheduled to perform as we went to press, yesterday, is one of the country’s sole female athlete to grab ticket to the Olympics and came in for high praises from Gambia Athletics Association boss Capi Joof.
