Gambian footballer could visit Sierra Leone Ebola survivors

Ebrima Sohna of Gambia could be one of selected ambassadors to pay visit to children orphaned by ebola and Ebrima Sohna of Gambiaadult survivors of the endemic in December.

The midfielder contracted to Finnish club KuPS is expected offer a helping hand to Saudi-Arabia-based Sierra Leone-born footballer David Simon’s Foundation (DSF).

Sohna, said to be born of a Sierra Leonean mother and a Gambian father, should all go as planned, will meet along the Freetown Gender and Children’s Welfare ministry, the Sports Minister and the Sierra Leone Football Association – all part of the launching of DSF.

Sierra Leone is one of Africa’s most affected countries when the virus epidemic broke out last year leaving thousand dead.

The 26-year-old Gambia national team player was contacted by Foroyaa Sport to shed light over his proposed visit but was yet to respond at press time.
