The triumvirate of Suwaibou Sanneh , Adama Jammeh and Gina Bass have failed short of reaching the Africa Games 100m finals, Foroyaa Sport can report.

Much revered Suwaibou Sanneh and female athlete Gina Bass were the little better ones in a cocktail 100m event that saw all Gambian participants dramatically crashing out of the semi-finals.

Suwaibou clocked a season best timing of 10.41 as he finished third behind Liberia’s Emmanuel Matadi who topped the lane, meeting the exact Olympic timing of 10.20.

Gina also secured third on a 11.63 timing consequently failing to make the 100m women finals while Adama crashed out on fourth-place, nine seconds from attaining the Olympic timing.

All hopes aren’t lost for the trio who is understood to be better at 200m which could start today in South Africa.

Alhagie Salim-Dammeh, Gambia’s sole hope in the 400m was running in the semis yesterday evening as we went to press.
