By Mustapha Jallow It has now been confirmed by a close family source that Mr. MomodouModou Sabally SG Sabally, the former Secretary General, Head of Civil Service and Minister of Presidential Affairs, is arrested and detained by state security agents. This confirmation came after Foroyaa mounted an investigation in to his whereabouts since his removal from office on 1 July 2014. He is now in detention for 35 days without bail or trial before a court of law. The source, who preferred anonymity, told this reporter that he is a close relative of ex-SG Sabally. He said he was informed about his relative’s arrest when someone called him on his phone while he was at the beach one evening. He explained that when he returned home, he noticed a heavy presence of security agents in plain clothes as well as some uniformed personnel from the Police Intervention Unit (PIU), who came and collected all state owned assets, including his official vehicles and other valuable materials provided to him. Readers could recall that some plain clothes officers who were met by this reporter at the official residence of ex. S.G. Sabally said the former head of the Gambian Civil Service was out of town.  ]]>
