Eleven COVID-19 Patients Currently On Oxygen Therapy

Health Authorities have on Thursday 9th September 2021 reported that eleven (11) COVID-19 patients are currently on oxygen therapy.

The Gambia on the same day registered thirty-one (31) new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to nine thousand, eight hundred and twenty (9,820).

The positivity test rate is 2.2%. Of the newly confirmed cases of COVID 19, eighteen (18) were males and thirteen (13) females, with a median age of 32.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were registered.

For reasons of testing, 17 tested for travelling, 4 for suspicion of COVID-19, 1 due to contact with a confirmed case,3 to know their covid-19 status and 6 for unspecified reasons.

Nine (9) cases were newly discharged from treatment centres, while 12 got discharged at least 10 days from the day they tested positive, but evaded institutional isolation. Four (4) new contacts were traced and monitored.

This is the 366th national situation report since the confirmation of the first case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in The Gambia, on the 16th March 2020.
