Allegations by Latrikunda United that they have been relegated on purpose by the Serekunda East Sports Committee have been dismissed.
LK United last week lodged a strongly-worded complaint to the East nawettan overseeing committee urging their relegation be rescinded.
In the letter, privy to Foroyaa Sport, LK United claimed, teams with less than the five points they accumulated last term, have been let off while the committee chooses to demote them.
LK United accused the committee of carrying out a vendetta after the team allied with other teams calling for the committee head’s resignation whom they alleged embezzled funds of the organisation.
But the East Committee’s president Saikou Bah has reacted describing LK’s claims as ‘baseless’.
‘They (Latrikunda United) know that they are relegated. Let them go and see the rules and regulations or go to any other zone and look at the rules; they will know that they are actually relegated. We don’t need to clarify anything. It’s all baseless,’ Saikou says.
