When death occurs under suspicious circumstances, a thorough investigation becomes urgent and mandatory. A proper autopsy must be done to determine the cause of death.

Furthermore, in light of the Banjul incident, in which medicines were taken by all the deceased, it should be subjected to laboratory analysis to determine whether it is fit for human consumption. The results of such inquiry should be made public.

This is what signifies transparency and accountability. To gather such information and disseminate it is a manifestation of probity. This is what is expected of all public officials.
