A cricket capacity building programme beginning this week Wednesday is scheduled to wrap-up today.
Staged at the Gambia National Olympic Committee hall along the Berthil Harding Highway, the course, dubbed Cricket Administration Programme (CAP) second phase, attracted sport committees, coaches, development officers in various regions and also club representatives of cricket.
According to the president of the Gambia Cricket Association Johnny Gomez, the programme is aimed at building up the capacity of the administrators in Cricket on financial management and governance.
‘This week, Wednesday and Thursday programme, would be focusing on financial management and governance,’ he says.
‘ Beside the programme last week Wednesday, when we had a programme on community Cricket club building up; that is how to build a cricket club, how to organize a tournament and all what you need to complete a tournament and also the analysis for the results in a tournament,’ said Mr. Gomez.
Meanwhile, the 2019 Cricket super cup, the traditional curtain raiser for G. C. A cricket league is scheduled on Saturday 28th September 2019 at MRC at 10am.
The 2019 cricket super cup would be contested by the league champions Brikama United and the knockout winners Gambia Ports Authority.
