Bundung NAM Donates Water, Electricity Items Worth Over D300 Thousand

The National Assembly Member for Bundung, Hon. Sulayman Jammeh, on Sunday, 10 March 2024 provided electricity, water and football gears to his electorate worth three hundred and seventy-two thousand, two hundred and twenty Dalasi (D327,220.00), funded from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking at the event, Amie Jatta expressed joy for the provision of the said items which she said signifies the interest that their representative has for his electorate.

“Water and electricity are essential amenities without which people cannot live comfortably. We have been faced with acute lack of these amenities. But with the provision of the said items, we are hopeful that our nightmare will be greatly mitigated,” she remarked.

She urged the electorate not to allow politics to be the source of their difference among them, but to rather join hands together to continue nurturing and safeguarding the peace, stability and harmony that has for long existed among them. She said politics is based on choice and must not be a source of instability among the people.

Lamin Darboe, the Councilor for Bundung Ward, informed the convergence that despite their political differences, he has been collaborating and working together with the Honourable Members for Bundung, to develop their constituency.

“I assured our Lawmaker that the street light he has donated to me for onward distribution, will be fairly distributed to serve the people who are in dire need of these lights. We are teaming up together which is driven by our firm desire and objective to develop Bundung, and one way of doing it is to provide these items because electricity supply is one of the nightmares confronting the people,” he said.

He congratulated the member for Bundung for the support and development projects and initiatives that he continued to bring to the constituency, and encouraged him to keep up the momentum.

For his part, the Member for Bundung, Hon. Sulayman Jammeh, expressed gratitude to members of the various political parties for gracing the occasion, and said this is a testament of the peaceful nature of their constituents who are driven by a collective shared view towards developing their area.

“The provision of these items is funded from the constituency development fund for Bundung, worth D372,220.00. This amount has been spent to purchase 26 taps; over 60 street lights and sets of football jerseys for various football teams in the constituency,” Hon. Jammeh said. In return, Hon. Jammeh received praises for the valuable support and projects provided to the people of his constituency in his capacity as the representative, geared towards improving the living conditions and well-being of his constituents.
