Gambia Ports Authority have been offered a chance to have a nip at the league in the next match just when they Brikama ensured Realappeared to be loosening their grip after second-placed Brikama drew Real de Banjul.

They were required to snatch six points in their remaining two games having drawn Gamtel on Saturday. But after close title rivals Brikama fired blanks with third-placed Real de Banjul, Gaffer Alagie Sarr now has chance of fulfilling his task of bringing to an end Ports’ near six-year trophy-less spell.

Sarr who left Real de Banjul in drama-filled circumstances, only now needs to send third-from-bottom Serrekunda United, who drew Banjul United, packing to clinch the highly prized gong.

But if any, those points won’t come on the cheap giving United’s precarious situation –treading the footpath of relegation.

The 2010 league champions now have to either beat SK United or risk pushing the contention to the final day of the league against arch title foes Brikama United.
