Brikama United bounced back from a 4-0 defeat to Gambia ports
Authority last week to beat Banjul United 3-2.
The victory places the West Coast Region-based outfit to third behind Real de Banjul and Gamtel. It was the best of confidence-restoring match gaffer Sulayman Kuyateh’s charges would have asked for after getting drubbed the week before.
Brikama last won the league title in 2011 and the points picked over
the weekend sees the club back in contention for the silverware
following that blip.
Elsewhere Gamtel extended their lead at the top following a labored
1-0 slender win over second-from-bottom Serrekunda United. United will
undoubtedly get fans’ hopes for the club to retain its top flight
status down after the lost with the league’s end drawing ever close.
Finally, Hawks drew Gambia Ports Authority goalless in another league tie.]]>
