If Gambia is going to challenge South Africa’s Bafana Bafana they may
have to do it without the services of striker Ousman Jallow and defender Pa Modou Jagne who are doubtful for the clash because of injuries.Jallow has been a regular for Gambia but missed the 2014 qualifiers
via an abrasion that ruled him out for over a year before resurfacing
to sign for HJK and getting injured again this month.
The 26-year-old is sidelined having picked up a hamstring injury and
has so far missed three of HJK matches. The ex-Raja Casablanca
front-man hobbled off in the 65th minute in sheer agony in the 3-0
victory over promoted KTP.
The timing of the injury comes at a worst possible time for a forward
who’d played just thirty-eight minutes in three matches.
With the extent of the wound still to be established and with the
public still dark about whether he may undergo an operation,
it’s however feared Ousman may not recuperate fully till next month
meaning he may as well miss Gambia vs South Africa encounter in
Johannesburg.
Pa Modou Jagne, the ex-Brondby man international team-mate, is also
said to be out following a knee injury. Whoever happens to be appointed coach of
the Gambia maybe faced with a tough task of having to do without
