Former Senegalese King of Arena Balla Gaye has agreed to do battle with Gris Bordeaux.
The two have been tipped to face-off since last year with a number of promoters reported to have tried to tie up a deal between the two without success.
Gris, dubbed The Tiger of Fass, has been dragging his feet over agreeing a deal by rebuffing numerous proposals to fight Balla.
Gris was at one point said to have demanded ridiculous sums promoters would baulk at paying, as way of saying no to suggestions to clash with the Lion of Guediawaye.
However, on the back of all speculations regarding the this matter, the bout will now take place after promoter Luc Nicolai reached an agreement in principle with Balla and Gris pending signing of a contract.
Nicolai announced the development while making an appearance on a Senegalese local TV.
Balla hasn’t battled since losing to Eumeu Sene in 2015 while Gris last competed July last year, biting the dust to Modou Lo in a revenge duel.
In another trajectory, Tapha Tine will also square Yekini Junior, a duel also arranged by Nicolai.
