Bai Jobe Njie disappears without trace for 175 Days

By KebbaJeffang Today, Thursday, 25th June, 2015 marks 175 days since Mr. Bai JobeNjie, a driver at the Kanifing Municipal CouncilModou Njie (KMC) and father of Private Modou Njie who was sentenced to death by a court martial, disappeared without trace. A family source told Foroyaa that they still have no clue as to the whereabouts of their loved one. “The arrest and subsequent disappearance of our bread winner and pillar has dealt a heavy blow to our family as it is affecting us psychologically, socially and economically. We have been searching for him all throughout this period but to no avail,” said the source. He said they are now desperate and do not know what to do or where to turn to secure the release of their father. “We are appealing to the authorities to hear the cries of the young family he left behind and release him,” he added. It could be recalled that Mr.Njie’s son, Modou Njie, a former soldier of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), who later traveled to Germany, was captured and sentenced to death by a court martial on 30th March 2015.]]>
