By Sulayman Bah Gambian boxer Badou Jack is ardent on defending his World Boxing Council Supper middle weight belt this Gambian boxer Badoumonth. The 31-year-old fiery ring ace, who calls himself as ‘The Ripper’, will get a first taste of what it is like to defend a world boxing title when crossing daggers with two-time super middle weight world champion George Groves. Badou claimed the world belt from Anthony Dirrel on a majority decision. The bout slated for September 12th, is touted to be a must-watch with both fighters being champions. Groves has two defeats under his belt despite being a two-time world champion while Badou is beaten only once with a single draw in twenty-one bouts boasting 19 wins 12 on knockouts. The pair has vowed to undo each other on the day of the occasion in their pre-match war of words. Jack pictured above throwing jabs in workout session, is Gambia’s hope in the ring at the moment after fellow boxer Omar Jatta relinquished his GBC middleweight title to Turkish-born Turgay Uzun in Germany.
