Are The Returnees From Mauritania Receiving Proper Attention?

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Nothing can be more tragic than to face death and escape while dozens fall victim to the ocean and its currents and waves. Death by drowning is one of the most painful ways to die. To live to remember seeing people of youthful years suffocating is not a pleasant experience. Hence experienced personnel should receive the young people who have gone through this traumatic experience in order to give them the right counselling so that they will be able to cope and move on.

The Ministry of youth and sport in collaboration with the interior ministry and trade and employment should take timely measures to engage the survivors in productive pursuits. Every move they take should be transparent so that nobody will blame anyone for any misdeed. Whatever funds they give to the young people should be known to the public so that no youth will claim to be short-changed.

Foroyaa will conduct interviews with the authorities concerned to find out what they could allocate to the youth.
