It is important for all Gambians to realise that dead bodies do not have friends and relatives. They cannot love or hate. You may pluck out the eyes of a dead person, cut the ears, chop the limbs and mutilate every part of the body but to no avail since it cannot think or feel. Hence how a dead body is treated is a manifestation of the character and values of the living. A dead body is entirely different from the person whose personality it represents. When dead bodies are completely burnt the naked eye cannot identify the personalities who lived through those bodies. Now that the dead are gone the living should leave decency and justice to prevail. No one should be made to suffer just because one is related to one person or the other.]]>
