The three sureties of the Demfaye Basic Cycle School principal who is feared to have jumped bail will be appearing before the Bansang Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15th February, 2016 to face trial for failing to provide the accused person, a judicial source has confirmed to this paper on Tuesday, February 09, 2016.
The source indicated that the sureties, who were earlier detained, are currently on bail after depositing with the court a title deed to secure their release from custody. However, they will be appearing on Monday to know their fate.
Meanwhile, readers could recall that the 3 sureties were arrested and held at Bansang police station on the 28th January after the court ordered for it following their failure to produce the accused person on two consecutive court proceedings. They were however released shortly after they fulfilled the court order to provide a title deed.
The accused person, Lamin Camara, the principal of Demfaye Basic Cycle School, is facing two count charges of “Broadcasting and publishing false information’ and ‘Libel’ involving a police officer posted in Kaur station. He denied any wrong doing.
