Bulgaria-based Gambian footballer Bakary Kambi Njie is close to returning to full fitness as he begins tranuing with rest of the Chernomore CF squad.
The attacker has been sidelined with a knee problem for four months.
The 27-year-old had his knee operated after being heavily clamped down while playing for Chernomore CF in a domestic league match.
The former Espanyol forward spurred his club to the Bulgarian Cup in which he scored the match-winner but saw his season go up in smokes due to injuries and the latest one was the last straw.
Club doctors’ tests showed he broke his cartilage forcing him to go under the knife in Spain where he completed his rehabilitation process.
It was first feared he wouldn’t play till next year March.
However, he has recuperated quickly and is now touted to start training at least this November.
The injury was an ill-timed, one hitting in moment he was due to make his first appearance in the Europa League qualifiers.
