By Sulayman Bah&Abdoulie Fatty Sutusinjang swaggered past NdembanJola to book a date with Bulok A in the semi-finals of the ongoing FoniSutusinjang Brefet District tournament. A 2-1 score settled the clash as Sutusinjang walked over Ndemban at the Bullock mini-stadium. SalifuSaho bagged the opening goal after fourteen seconds ticked in the first-half before Ndemban pulled level via captain Sulayman Kujabi’s free-kick after twenty-five minutes in the first period. Resumption of play saw Sutusinjang race to the lead again after new entrant Ansumana Badjie bamboozled Ndemban’s defence to setup Salifu Saho to bag a brace in the 80th minute. Omar Jammeh Sutusinjang’s captain was all delight but reckoned it was a tough game. ‘Thank god we won the points. The opponents are good but we managed to win’ he said. His coach Omar Manga bemoaned absence of key midfielders of his team but voiced satisfaction over securing the points in what was difficult game. Manga’s opposing number in the dug-out Sulayman Colley rued his Ndemban team poor defending which he said caused them to concede the decisive second goal. Bulok A got rid of GBOS 4-4 on post-match penalties following a goalless stalemate in the other quarter final clash. Winning coach Adama Badjie lamented his strike force’s profligacy in front of goal. ‘I asked the boys to defend with the hope of winning on penalties. I’m pleased with victory but it wasn’t an easy match,’ Badjie said, adding he’s confident of beating Sutusinjang in the semis. A tearful GBOS gafferEbou Colley couldn’t talk to the press and was instead deputized by Musa Camara, his understudy. ‘It’s football. It was down to poor luck that we lost on penalties but the boys did well. The midfield was a problem and I can’t blame the referee because he’s human’ Colley said.]]>
