The split of the ANC with the emergence of Zuma as an opposition leader heading a party with the name of the former armed wing of the ANC as its name gives the impression that the traditional base of the ANC is cracking.
There were expectations that, having lost its absolute majority in the parliament of South Africa, ANC will look for its lost support base in the membership of those political forces that broke away and find ways and means of building coalitions to attract that very support base in order to restore its image in South Africa.
The country has gone through the most traumatic historical experience that many people have gone through. There is need for the party to take stock before entering into any alliance. Alliance is meant to strengthen allies and not weaken them.
