Many children born in the Gambia of non Gambian parents are now living in The Gambia as stateless persons due to the fact that their parents are no longer connected to their countries of origin but are also yet to be naturalized to become Gambian citizens.
Foroyaa will investigate to find out matters relating to the issuing of birth certificates to children whose parents are non Gambians. It is becoming an urgent matter to address as the population of such stateless persons increase.
