GPF Officers Briefed On Security Operations Ahead of 15th OIC Summit

Officers of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) who have been selected to participate in the security operations of the upcoming OIC conference scheduled for May 4th and 5th 2024 in the Gambia, have received briefing on their security operations during the forthcoming Summit, at the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) headquarters in Kanifing last Monday April 29th 2024.

The purpose of the briefing is part of the Gambia Police Force’s commitment to ensure that the upcoming OIC conference is conducted smoothly and safely, and to demonstrate the GPF’s preparedness and capability in managing international events.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Ebrima Bah, who is also the head of all Police operations in the country, addressed Regional Police Commissioners, Chiefs of Operations, Chiefs of Regional Sister Forces, and other officers about their operational functions, by outlining their mandates to them. AIGP Bah emphasized the critical role each unit is expected to play in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all conference participants, and asserted the importance of coordination and cooperation among the different units. He highlighted strategies for effective crowd management and rapid response to any incidents, and also talked to them about the significance of maintaining professionalism and adherence to security standards throughout the event.
