Gambia wins two gold medals

The Gambia has won two gold medals in the 13th African Games in Ghana. The medals were secured by Mariam Gina Bass Bittaye in the women’s 100m and 200m race.

Winning the 200m race, Gina Bass wins gold medal and defended her title for African champion.

Her victory shows waves of congratulations from Gambians and institutions.

The Gambia Police on their part congrats her exceptional talent by clinching victory in the race.

‘Her remarkable achievement comes shortly after being honored as Africa’s fastest sprinter, further solidifying her status as a formidable athlete,’ the Police said.

Gina is member of the Gambia Police Force . She is an Inspector.

The Medal Table of the African Games Accra 2023 contains list of all medals won by various countries athletes in the continent’s premier sports event.

The Gambia has just two gold medals won by Gina Bass. Its near neighbour, Senegal, has 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Gina has successfully qualified for the summer Olympics to be held in Paris, France. She will be representing the Gambia on the international stage.
