WHEN WILL PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT COME TO BURKINA FASO, NIGER, MALI, GUINEA, CHAD AND GABON?

Two key necessities that a government should provide to a people are peace and development.

Representatives have been elected in Guinea, Mali, Chad, Niger, Burkina Faso and Gabon without the people enjoying peace and development. Military takeovers have taken place in all these countries but development is still elusive and what the future holds for the people of the respective countries is still unclear.

Counter coups are taking place in Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Chad, Niger and Gabon and the threats will continue if development and peace fail to follow the military takeovers.

Foreign governments with troops on the African continent are beginning to see the danger of being drawn into the conflicts of countries when the conflict in Ukraine is entering a more dangerous state as threats that had never been made, even at the height of the cold war, between Soviet Union and the West are now being made between Russia and the Nato allies. The African countries should know that Russia and Nato countries that are engaged in the consolidation of their military machines at the expense of their economic development will not have the time or means to bankroll their economic development through aid. It is therefore time to move away from romantising the departure of French troops and go back to the drawing board to carve a way forward for peace and development to be a reality in Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Chad and Gabon and the rest of the continent.

Foroyaa will come up with a supplement on the trend towards coups d’état and find out the way forward for peace and development in our countries.
