The team comprising a 30-man delegation including 19 players and GFF’s Ebou Faye arrived in Algiers Air port before taking aconnecting flight to Setif where the second-leg of the CAF first round qualifier is to be played. Captain and goalkeeper Alagie Nyabally has talked tough ahead of Real de Banjul’s return match visit to Algeria eyeing only progression to the next round. Nyabally told the club: “we are going to Algeria to be impressive and hopefully progress to the next round even though we know it won’t be easy but in football, nothing is impossible’ The Gambian champions will travel out for their second-leg tomorrow against ES Setif via Senegal. The first leg ended one-all. Real first raced ahead with Ablie Jallow nestling in the game’s opener before ESS equalized twenty-five minutes from time after the hosts had disappointingly switched to the back foot apparently contended with their fragile lead. The return match is billed for April 3rd at the 25,000 Stade 8 Mai 1945 seater stadium with kickoff tipped for 8:30pm. Ivorian referee Dennis Dembele takes center stage of proceedings aided by Moussa Bayere and Marius Donatien Tan. Tangba Kambou will be the fourth official while António Mendes of Guinea-Bissau will act as the match commissioner. Real De Banjul needs to score and avoid conceding to stand any hope of qualification in the return leg in Algeria. The capital-based side reached the first round qualifiers after thumping Liberia’s champions Barrack Young Controllers in the preliminary round.
