The office of the president has announced that President Barrow is set for a nation-wide tour commencing Monday 18th November.
This is a constitutional requirement as stipulated in section 222 subsection (15) of the Constitution. The purpose of the tour is clearly “to familiarise himself or herself with current conditions and the effects of government policies.” It is not meant to serve as a platform to snipe at political opponents. On the contrary, it is meant to provide a platform for the people to air their concerns and aspirations and for the president to take those concerns into account in reviewing or formulating policies, programmes and projects.
Foroyaa will follow the tour and monitor the acknowledgements, criticisms, questions and demands of the people as well as the response of the president and his entourage.
