LAMIN FATTY Following the armed attack at the State House on Tuesday 30th of December 2014, this reporter has seen soldiers at the Basse Army barracks with guns seating directly opposite the camp. The soldiers although seem to be relaxed, but many people have the belief that it is an unusual situation for the soldiers to be in such a state. In Kudang, the soldiers were said to be in the same state. They are all said to be dressed in military uniform on standby. This reporter approached the president of the URR transport union Mr. Mamadou Trawally regarding the situation at the Gambia Sabi border post. According to Mr. Trawally, there is no problem at the Gambia/Senegal border and vehicles from both directions are carrying goods and passengers. He urged drivers and passengers to pray for peace and tranquility to prevail between the two countries.]]>
