Clubs in the Italian Serie A are fighting for the signature of Gambian striker Lamin Jallow, Foroyaa Sport can report.
Fiorentina –also suitors of Gambia captain Omar Colley – are the latest outfit to join queue of admirers looking to snap up Jallow.
The 23-year-old has been a hit for Italian second division club Cesena where he’s on a 12-month loan spell from parent club Chievo Verona.
The winger-cum centre- forward has notched up a combined nine goals delivering four assists in nineteen games this campaign.
Serie A champions Juventus have asked their scouts to keep track of the former Bakau United man’s progress but are yet to lodge a bid though there has been verbal expression of interest.
The serial title and erstwhile Uefa Champions League winners however face stiff rivalry from fellow heavyweights Fiorentina who’ve also ordered their ubiquitous scouts to document Jallow’s development as they evaluate a proposal.
Moving to Juventus will make Lamin the first Gambian ever to be snapped up by the Old Lady outfit – a thing that will sure be a feather on his cap. But that could present some hitches where it concerns playing time with a loan move to another club to continue his improvement a likelier option.
Fiorentina on the other hand stand a better chance to prise away Lamin with regular football for him there more feasible.
Parent team Chievo are a selling club but it remains to be seen whether they will soften their resolve and accept a bid for a player whose contract they recently renewed.
But should they choose to cash in on the attacker, Verona would undoubtedly be laughing all the way to the bank as any sale would represent a huge coup considering the paltry sum they pulled out to acquire him from local Gambian club Real de Banjul in December 2013.
Jallow is currently valued around £1.26m with the sum expected to soar further as big-name clubs tempt the Gambian.
