Armed Forces Caf opponents Zanaco Secure Eleven Fresh Men

Zambian league vice champions Zanaco have snapped up eleven new players in preparation for the Total Caf Champions League tie against Gambia’s Armed Forces Football Club.

Zanaco finished second best to ZESCO United by a solitary point and will be hosting the Gambian title holders February 8thin Lusaka.

In anticipation for the duel as they eye establishing dominance in the continental club tourney, Zanaco have acquired eleven new players, according to the coach Numba Mumanba.

Armed Forces, amongst the leading sides of the Gambian premier league, will be flying out to Lusaka for the first-leg of the preliminary round fixture with the return tie scheduled for 15thFebruary.

The soldiers’ performances have improved following a sluggish start to the campaign.

Zanaco’s acquisition of new players will have Gambia’s sole representatives in the Caf Champions League taking mental note of their soon-to-be opponents’ progress.

Armed Forces bolstered their squad with the recruitment of a couple of players beginning on first day of pre-season at the Serrekunda East mini-stadium. Notable among the players they’ve signed includes Ex-U-17 goalkeeper Baka Ceesay who featured for the Scorpions in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
