QUESTION OF THE DAY

IS THE IEC STILL REPLACING VOTERS’ CARDS?

THE ANSWER IS NO

It has been brought to the notice of Foroyaa that people are still going to the IEC to request for replacement of their voters’ cards. They requested for Foroyaa to conduct investigation on the matter. Before the investigation commenced the IEC issued a press release indicating that there are 886,578 registered voters. They indicate no other voter could be added to this number.

Hence, all Gambians who have voters’ cards should go and vote. The only way it could be proven that there are more voters added to the register of voters’ than the ones that are already registered is to have election results which show more voters than the number declared by the IEC.

The press release of the IEC is published to indicate that the replacement exercise has come to a halt. The reader should look at the details of the press release. Should you have any further question, Foroyaa will be glad to seek clarification.
