Striker Ebrima Camara has moaned over being overlooked for selection to the Gambia national team.
The Oman-based goal-getter scored twelve times last season netting twice on final league game to secure his club Jalaan promotion to the Omani Professional League.
And on grounds of performance, used as yardstick to summon players for national team duty, the former Bakau United attacker feels he’d done enough to convince gaffer Sang Ndong.
‘I was with high spirits. I was expecting a call (from the national team coach)’ he says but chose not to hold it against Ndong, instead opting to rally behind the team during the games against Zambia and South Africa.
‘But it’s normal everybody cannot be called. The players that are better for their teams have been called. I was supporting them (the Scorpions). May be if my last season wasn’t impressive may be the coming season if I push harder it will come, I may fit in the team (scorpions team),’ the ex-Gambia U-20 forward, on off-season break in Gambia, said.
Dubba Bura, the 23-year-old has spent two seasons already with Jalaan and said of this about the Omani League: ‘Oman has a very fine league. We are from the first division (second division) moving now to the premier side (professional League). It’s the toughest league. I scored twelve goals in about 20 games (last season)’

European Football. European football is more tactical. Arabia football is also tough, but it is good for any player to play in,’ he points out in the aftermath of West Coast Region Selection and Greater Tomorrow friendly game.
