WHAT NEXT FOR THE GAMBIA?

82

Gambia is in a state of flux. Different people have different perspectives of what is the way forward for the country.

Party flags are flying at the different headquarters of the political parties giving the impression of a readiness for heightened multi party activity in the country.

On the other hand, sparks of dissent dot the political landscape thus creating an element of uncertainty.

The larger public appears to be going on their normal business.

Those who want change should engage the vast majority of the people to know what kind of change they want and not impose on them a type of change that they may not be ready for.

Any such attempt may lead to isolation and an eventual heaping of blame on the masses for not responding to their calls.

The people are the barometer of what type of change a society could undergo.

This is the time for Gambians to show tremendous political maturity in order to find genuine solutions to our national problems.
