The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) yesterday announced that the total provisional number of persons registered as voters at the end of the supplementary registration of voters is ninety-six thousand six hundred and twenty-six (96,626). The total number of voters listed in the register of voters had been 796,929. Assuming no name is deleted from the list this will bring the total number of registered voters to 893,555.
According to the release, Fourteen thousand three hundred and ninety-five (14,395) voters had also replaced their voter’s cards.
This supplementary registration of voters and replacement of voter’s cards was conducted throughout the country from 14th January to 12thMarch 2016.
