69-Year-Old Seeks Assistance for Overseas Eye Operation

Sankung Camara, a 69-year-old man residing in Ebo-town, Kanifing Municipality, is seeking assistance in order to facilitate his overseas treatment (eye operation).

Mr. Camara said his eyes used to disturb him many years ago and that he has visited several hospitals in the Gambia and was later referred to Dakar, Senegal. “I went to Senegal last year, but I was able to facilitate the operation of only one eye, the other one was not operated. The one that was not operated is the one disturbing me now and I want to go back to Senegal, but I have financial challenges.”

This old man who walk in to Foroyaa’s office said he has gathered some money, but what he has is not enough for his medical bills that is what prompted him to seek for assistance.

“I have spent the little income I have when I was operating the other eye and am now referred for overseas treatment (operations) again. I have some amount of money to pay fares to Senegal, but I have is not enough to facilitate my treatment,” he said.

Mr. Camara is seeking for assistance from philanthropists, government institutions, non-government organizations or individuals.
