Yusupha Yaffa a Serrekunda-born Gambian is pondering pastures new
after the end of his contract with German Bundesliga’s Eintracht
Frankfurt, Foroyaa Sport can report. The 18-year-old joined the German club in January after impressing on
trial following his release by Italian giants AC Milan.
He left Milan after failing to break into the A-team and his search
for minutes took him to Frankfurt on a short six-month deal.
The striker was acquired with promise of first-team football depending
on his progress with the team youth set-up. But hardly Frankfurt‘s
coach considered the Gambian a first-teamer and the player’s
off-the-pitch issues didn’t help either.
Growing disillusioned over lack of playing time, the attacker who also
has dual citizenship with Italy and Gambia is pondering moving away with Romanian champions Steaua Bucharest said to be his preferred
destination.
Yaffa’s agent Mauro Cavalli confirmed possibility of a move away from
Germany is being explored but insists no deal has been signed yet.
Yaffa is no stranger to Gambian football fans. He was first invited to
the Gambia U-20 team in 2008 under Coach Paul Put while he was with
Serie C side AC Cuneo 1905.]]>
